Tony Kemp Designated For Assignment
8 months agoThe Baltimore Orioles designated infielder/outfielder Tony Kemp for assignment on Wednesday to make room on the active roster for top prospect Jackson Holliday. Kemp got the start at second base for the Orioles in their win over the Red Sox on Tuesday, but now he's off the 40-man roster and could be with another organization before long. The 32-year-old was cut by the Cincinnati Reds at the end of spring training and only appeared in five games for Baltimore in the early going, failing to record a single hit in 10 plate appearances. If he's not claimed off waivers or traded, Kemp could wind up sticking around in the O's organization if he accepts an assignment to the minors leagues.
