Seattle Kraken center Shane Wright will be allowed to play in the AHL this season if he fails to make the NHL roster, having been granted a special exemption. This is great news regarding Wright's development, as he won't be forced to play another season of junior hockey if he still isn't ready for regular NHL action. After being selected fourth in the 2022 NHL Draft, Wright couldn't nail down a spot in the Kraken lineup last season and played in just eight games, scoring once and delivering one assist.
