Seth Beer Cleared To Return To Camp
4 years agoArizona Diamondbacks manager Torey Lovullo said on Thursday that first base/outfield prospect Seth Beer, who was announced as a positive for COVID-19 just two days ago, has been cleared to return to summer camp at Salt River Fields. It's unclear when Beer tested positive for the virus. Beer is the team's No. 12 prospect, per MLB Pipeline, but he's not expected to make his major league debut at any point during the 2020 season. The 23-year-old lefty swinger has the power and hitting ability for the first base position in the big leagues, but he'll need to clean up his defense at first and in the outfield in order to stick as a full-time starter. He's definitely on the radar in dynasty/keeper leagues.
