Nashville Predators defenseman Ryan McDonagh (upper body) will "hopefully" be in the lineup Wednesday night when the club takes on the Calgary Flames on home ice, per head coach Andrew Brunette. The veteran rearguard has been out of action since Nov. 2 due to an upper-body injury but took line rushes with Predators captain Roman Josi on Wednesday morning, indicating he is good to return in the evening. Traded from the Lightning to the Predators as a salary dump prior to last season, the 34-year-old has two assists and 25 blocked shots through 10 games this season after recording 22 points and a hefty 165 blocks last season. His defense-first style will be a welcome addition for a Preds team that is tied for 21st in overall defense and 30th on the penalty kill. Dante Fabbro is likely to come out of the lineup and serve as a healthy scratch on Wednesday.--Brenton Kemp
