1 month agoRyan Braun may be 36 years old which in baseball years is definitely getting up there, but don’t let ageism get the best of you. In 2019, Braun played 144 games, his highest total since 2012. He is not done yet. Braun also had a great (.285-22-70-75-11) all-around season in 2019. He has hit 20 or more home runs four times in the last five seasons. Braun also had double-digit steals for the sixth straight season. The statcast data looks great as well with a 9.8% barrel rate and a 45% hard-hit rate. Braun is still smacking the ball, running wild and playing in more games no matter what Father Time has to say. Now, Braun enters the 2020 season with a chance of playing some outfield and first base depending on some platoons. The Brewers signed Avisail Garcia to play a corner outfield position and Justin Smoak to play first base. There’s a chance we see Braun platoon at first base with Smoak to take a breather from an everyday outfield job. However the Brewers decide to play it out with Braun, he should play a solid amount of games and there is no reason to suspect a letdown season. The 36-year-old slugger, a potential 20+ home run and 10+ steal player, is being drafted as the 65th outfielder and after pick 240 making him a steal for 2020 fantasy baseball teams.--Brian Entrekin - RotoBaller
