Robbie Grossman Starting Over Evan Carter In Game 2
1 year agoTexas Rangers outfielder Robbie Grossman, not rookie Evan Carter, will make the start in left field and will bat third for Game 2 of the American League Championship Series on Monday against Houston Astros left-hander Framber Valdez. Carter, who hasn't looked like a rookie at all in the playoffs by going 7-for-18 (.389) with a homer, four doubles, three RBI, a stolen base and four runs in six games, will take a seat with the Rangers facing a southpaw for the first time this postseason. The 34-year-old Grossman will instead get the nod after going 2-for-14 with a double in three games so far this postseason. The veteran switch-hitter has gone just 3-for-17 with a double, an RBI, two walks and two strikeouts in his career against Valdez.
