Rob Gronkowski Will Play, Barring Setbacks
3 years agoTampa Bay Buccaneers tight end Rob Gronkowski (back), who is listed as questionable for the Monday night game against the New York Giants, will play as long as he doesn't suffer a pre-game setback, according to a source. Gronkowski looked and felt good in practice all week, and the team has been optimistic all along that he'll play for the first time since Week 8. The big tight end suffered fractured ribs and a punctured lung in Week 3 and came back in Week 8, only to suffer from back spasms. He hasn't played since. It's fair to wonder if Gronk will be on the field for a full share of snaps in his return, but even if he doesn't, he could still be a valuable red-zone target as one of quarterback Tom Brady's favorite targets inside the 20s.
