Raimel Tapia Makes Opening Day Roster
2 years agoBoston Red Sox outfielder Raimel Tapia has made the team's Opening Day roster, according to a source. Tapia will get the final roster spot after the team optioned Jarren Duran to Triple-A Worcester on Tuesday. The 29-year-old Dominican outfielder won't have much fantasy value outside of AL-only leagues as a bench player for Boston. He hit .265/.292/.380 with a .672 OPS, seven home runs, 52 RBI, 47 runs scored and eight stolen bases in 433 plate appearances and 128 games in 2022 with the Toronto Blue Jays. Duran should eventually be up with the Red Sox in the major leagues this year, so Tapia will have to play well in the limited opportunities he gets in order to stick around. Tapia lost most of his fantasy appeal in 2022 when he was traded to Toronto before Opening Day.
