Predators Sign Cole Smith To Two-Year Extension
11 months agoNashville Predators forward Cole Smith has signed a two-year, $2 million extension with the team. The 28-year-old Minnesota native has appeared in 46 games this season, tallying five goals and 16 points in that time. He has already surpassed his goal total from 69 games last season and will match his point total from last season with just one more point. A bottom-six forward, Smith is known more for his physicality as he has recorded 118 hits and 43 penalty minutes in 13:30 of average ice time this season after laying 198 hits alongside 60 penalty minutes in his 69 contests and 12:45 of average ice time per game a season ago. He has also managed three short-handed points on the season including his first career special teams goal on Dec. 21 versus the Flyers.
