Peyton Barber Dealing With Mild Turf Toe
3 years agoLas Vegas Raiders running back Peyton Barber (toe) was diagnosed with mild turf toe, according to sources. Barber didn't suffer a fracture and is seeking more opinions, but it sounds like he could be out for a few weeks. In the Monday night loss to the Los Angeles Chargers in Week 4, Barber returned one kick and had only one carry for zero yards after injuring his toe. The 27-year-old was impressive and looked better than Kenyan Drake as the early down and short-yardage back the last two weeks when Josh Jacobs was sidelined. Barber may still be worth stashing if you're hurting at the running back position, but as long as Jacobs is healthy, it's tough to see him getting enough looks on a weekly basis to have standalone fantasy value. Drake could see more opportunities behind Jacobs in the coming weeks, especially since Jacobs has looked sluggish in his two games this year.
