Chargers Won't Name Oronde Gadsden the Starter
Los Angeles Chargers tight end Oronde Gadsden was expected to be the starter heading into this season. According to Alex Insdorf, Gadsden might not have an easy path to the starting gig. On Saturday, Chargers head coach John Harbaugh said the team has four capable options at tight end, and refused to name a starter. The Chargers did bring in Charlie Kolar and David Njoku as competition for Gadsden. His role will likely be reduced with more capable bodies at the tight end spot now. Gadsden posted a strong rookie campaign and should remain an important part of the offense. Although it appears Harbaugh isn't ready to name anyone the starter quite yet.

Jadarian Price's Injury is Not Considered Serious
Seattle Seahawks rookie running back Jadarian Price (lower body) missed practice for the second straight day on Saturday with a lower-body injury. According to Jeremy Fowler, the injury is not considered serious, and Price should return to practice in a few days. This is a huge relief for Seahawks fans who are already without Zach Charbonnet (knee) right now. Price is expected to take over the lead backfield duties until Charbonnet is healthy enough to play. The Seahawks selected Price in the first round of this year's draft. He has a chance to be an immediate impact player in Seattle, with the Seahawks lacking viable options in the running game. Fantasy managers should not expect this leg soreness to keep Price sidelined for too much longer.

Mike Evans is Nearing Full Strength
San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Mike Evans (quad) has missed some training camp time this week with a quadriceps injury, but he is close to 100 percent, according to Nick Wagoner. Evans was able to work out on the side on Saturday while he continues to recover from a quad injury. Evans has been sidelined all week from this quad injury, but he should be back at practice soon. There is still over a month before the regular season begins, so Evans has plenty of time to get ready. The 13-year veteran should be a top option right away with his new team, especially with some of the injuries the 49ers have been dealing with early in camp.

Laremy Tunsil Suffers Torn Triceps, Will Miss Significant Portion Of Season
Washington Commanders offensive tackle Laremy Tunsil (triceps) suffered a torn triceps during training camp drills on Saturday. He will likely need surgery and will miss a significant portion of the regular season, according to Mike Garafolo of the NFL Network. Tunsil signed a two-year, $60 million extension with the Commanders this offseason to become the highest-paid offensive lineman in NFL history. It's a huge blow to the Commanders' offense as Tunsil is one of the best tackles in the league and did an incredible job defending the blindside of quarterback Jayden Daniels. The recovery time for this type of injury is anywhere from four to six months. Washington could move Brandon Coleman to the outside at left tackle, or Andrew Wylie could take over for the injured Tunsil.

Pat Bryant Making Highlights In Training Camp, Emerging As Denver's WR3
Denver Broncos wide receiver Pat Bryant had arguably the top highlight in Saturday's controlled scrimmage and continues to have an impressive training camp, according to Nick Kosmider of The Athletic. He made an incredible touchdown catch by holding onto it before hitting the ground, while his toes scraped the back of the end zone. "It's been like that all camp. That's what he can be, man. He's the guy in that room, in my opinion -- he blocks; he catches the ball in traffic, he tracks the ball vertically, he's great in the run game -- he's the complete package," said Broncos defensive coordinator Vance Joseph. Bryant caught 31 passes for 378 yards and one touchdown across 15 games last season. The 23-year-old is looking to emerge as Denver's No. 3 wideout behind Jaylen Waddle and Courtland Sutton and beat out Troy Franklin and Marvin Mims Jr. for that role. If Bryant can secure the No. 3 WR role in Denver, he becomes worth a late-round flier at his current Yahoo Fantasy ADP of 248.

49ers Wanted To Add Deebo Samuel Sr. Before Major Injuries
The San Francisco 49ers wanted to sign then-free-agent wide receiver Deebo Samuel Sr. to a contract before Ricky Pearsall (knee) was ruled out for the season, according to 49ers insider David Lombardi. According to Lombardi, 49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan confirmed the 49ers planned to sign Deebo and use him as a versatile weapon, as others will need to pick up the slack for Pearsall's Z role. Samuel signed a one-year, seven million contract with the 49ers at the end of July, returning to the team that initially drafted him with the 36th pick of the 2019 NFL Draft. Deebo is set to be San Francisco's WR2 behind Mike Evans and will compete with Evans, George Kittle, De'Zhaun Stribling, and Christian Kirk for targets. Samuel is currently ranked 138th overall (WR56) in the latest RotoBaller rankings, which aligns with Yahoo Fantasy ADP of 141, making him a solid pick in the later rounds.

Jonah Coleman Continues To Impress At Training Camp
Denver Broncos rookie running back Jonah Coleman continues to have a strong training camp and had another great practice on Saturday, according to Broncos beat writer Zac Stevens. Coleman had several good runs between the tackles and found the end zone during Saturday's practice. The 22-year-old has been a pleasant surprise for the Broncos at training camp so far and could carve out a role in Denver's backfield. Coleman was drafted by the Broncos in the fourth round, 108th overall, giving Denver a running back that can produce between the tackles. The Broncos' rookie could force a three-way split for touches with RJ Harvey and J.K. Dobbins if he continues to have a strong camp. Coleman is worth a late-round gamble as a stash, especially if Dobbins or Harvey were to miss any time.

De'Zhaun Stribling Could Have An Extended Role Early On
San Francisco 49ers rookie wide receiver De'Zhaun Stribling (hamstring) returned to practice on Saturday after missing the last few days with hamstring tightness, according to Nick Wagoner of ESPN. Stribling participated in team drills and made an impact by catching passes on multiple routes for sizeable gains. According to Wagoner, Stribling is picking up San Francisco's offense in a hurry and, if healthy, could have a fairly extensive role early on. He is having a strong training camp, and with Ricky Pearsall (knee) out for the season, he will have an opportunity to make an impact early on. The 49ers selected Stribling with the 33rd pick of the 2026 NFL Draft, and he will compete with Mike Evans, Deebo Samuel Sr., George Kittle, and Christian Kirk for targets in a potent 49ers offense. Luther Burden III Exits Early With Apparent Lower-Body Injury
Chicago Bears wide receiver Luther Burden III (lower body) exited Saturday's training camp practice early with an apparent lower body injury, according to Courtney R. Cronin of ESPN. Burden sustained the injury when he collided with teammate defensive back Tyrique Stevenson while Stevenson broke up a pass from quarterback Caleb Williams. According to Cronin, Burden walked gingerly toward the weight room under his own power and did not return to practice. The 22-year-old appeared to have avoided a serious injury and is considered day-to-day for now. Burden is set for an expanded role in the Bears' high-octane offense with the departure of DJ Moore. He caught 47 passes for 652 yards and two touchdowns over 15 games last season. Burden's fantasy stock is on the rise, and he was praised by the Bears' coaching staff for having an outstanding training camp this summer. Ja'Kobi Lane Getting Massive Hype in Ravens Camp
ESPN's Jamison Hensley writes that "in 27 years of covering the Ravens, I'm not sure I've seen a rookie have a training camp quite like" wide receiver Ja'Kobi Lane. The 22-year-old third-rounder from USC has had a highlight-reel catch every day this summer. Lane made an impressive one-handed catch with the starters in camp practice earlier this week and is looking like the real deal heading into his first NFL season. It's a positive development for a Ravens offense looking for someone to step up behind Zay Flowers (quadriceps) under new offensive coordinator Declan Doyle. If Lane continues on this trajectory, he will find himself starting in three-wide sets right away in Year 1 alongside Flowers and Rashod Bateman for a team looking to get back to the postseason under a new coaching staff. Lane never topped 800 receiving yards in his three seasons with the Trojans, but the 6-foot-4, 200-pound wideout did have 12 touchdowns in 13 games as a true sophomore at USC in 2024, and he's known for making contested catches with his plus athleticism. He could struggle for redraft fantasy value on a weekly basis, but he could be an interesting red-zone weapon for quarterback Lamar Jackson in 2026.

Jake Ferguson's Red-Zone Role Keeps Him in the TE1 Mix
Dallas Cowboys tight end Jake Ferguson was one of Dak Prescott's favorite options near the goal line last season, and that still gives him a path to TE1 value. Ferguson caught a career-high 82 passes for 600 yards and eight touchdowns on 102 targets, finishing TE7 in half-PPR. He also drew 23 red-zone targets, catching 14 of them for seven scores. The problem is that Dallas has plenty of mouths to feed. CeeDee Lamb is healthy, George Pickens is coming off a huge season, and Ferguson averaged only 7.3 yards per catch in 2025. He is not the kind of tight end who can live on a handful of deep shots if the volume falls. The good news is that his job is secure, and the connection with Prescott has looked sharp again in camp. RotoBaller has Ferguson 129th overall and TE14 in its August 8 half-PPR rankings. That price reflects the risk without burying a player who just finished inside the top eight. Ferguson is better viewed as a borderline TE1 than someone fantasy managers need to chase.

Ty Simpson Set for Preseason Debut
Los Angeles Rams quarterback Ty Simpson will play in the team's first preseason game, head coach Sean McVay told reporters Saturday. McVay said the rookie will "definitely" see action, while he has not decided whether Stetson Bennett IV will play. Simpson was the 13th overall pick in April and is competing with Bennett for the backup job behind Matthew Stafford. The Alabama product started all 15 games last season, completing 64.5% of his passes for 3,567 yards, 28 touchdowns, and five interceptions. Bennett received more of the second-team work early in camp, so the preseason should give Simpson a valuable chance to make up ground and show how quickly he is settling into McVay's offense. Stafford remains firmly atop the depth chart, but Simpson's first NFL game action will be worth watching for dynasty and Superflex managers.

Dalton Schultz Belongs in the TE2 Range in 2026
Houston Texans tight end Dalton Schultz was busy last year. He saw 106 targets, caught a career-high 82 passes for 777 yards and three touchdowns, and finished as the TE11. Finding that much work again could be difficult. Nico Collins is still the top receiver, Jayden Higgins is coming off a 41-catch, 525-yard rookie season and has drawn strong reviews in camp, while Tank Dell is back on the field after missing all of 2025 with a knee injury. Houston also signed Foster Moreau and used the 59th overall pick on tight end Marlin Klein. Schultz is still the Texans' TE1, and he played more than 71% of the offensive snaps last season, so his role isn't disappearing. There are simply more options around C.J. Stroud now. RotoBaller has Schultz 177th overall and TE24. He still makes sense as a second tight end, but another TE11 finish would require much of last year's target volume to stick around.

Jauan Jennings Is Worth a Late-Round Bet in Minnesota
Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Jauan Jennings is going late enough in drafts that last year's drop in yardage shouldn't scare fantasy managers away. Jennings caught 55 passes for 643 yards in 15 games for San Francisco, but he also scored a career-high nine touchdowns while playing through a collection of injuries that included five broken ribs. That came one year after he posted 77 catches for 975 yards. Minnesota doesn't need Jennings to be its top receiver with Justin Jefferson and Jordan Addison around, and T.J. Hockenson gives whichever quarterback wins the job another established target. There is still room for Jennings to matter, though. He gives the Vikings a physical veteran underneath and has shown he can produce when his role expands. The unsettled competition between J.J. McCarthy and Kyler Murray adds some uncertainty, but the price has already accounted for plenty of it. RotoBaller ranks Jennings 147th overall in half-PPR, while his current consensus ADP sits at 173.9. At that point in a draft, his track record is worth taking a chance on.

CeeDee Lamb Still Worth His First-Round Price
Dallas Cowboys wide receiver CeeDee Lamb had a down 2025 by his standards, but there is not much of a discount attached to it. He missed three full games with a high ankle sprain and still caught 75 passes for 1,077 yards on 117 targets. The three touchdowns were a career low, which is probably the biggest reason last year felt so disappointing in fantasy. George Pickens is not going away after a 93-catch, 1,429-yard breakout, and Dallas now has two receivers capable of commanding plenty of looks from Dak Prescott. That makes another 2023-type 181-target season harder to bank on. It also does not push Lamb out of the first-round conversation. Dallas has made red-zone improvement a focus in camp, and Lamb has been working in those drills. RotoBaller ranks him ninth overall and WR5 in half-PPR, almost exactly in line with his 10.6 ADP. At that price, Lamb is neither a bargain nor a fade. He is still one of the safest bets to anchor a fantasy receiving corps.
