Deshaun Watson (shoulder) said that he'll be ready for Week 1 of the 2024 regular season after having shoulder surgery last year. Watson also said recently that he's "in a great spot" and has "plenty of time to ramp up the throwing sessions" this offseason after having surgery on Nov. 21 to fix a displaced glenoid fracture in his right shoulder. The 28-year-old probably won't do everything during offseason workouts this spring, but he should be ready to go in full this summer at training camp. Watson has only played in 12 games over the last three seasons due to injury and suspension, but he remains the Browns' starter under center and still has the talent to be a midrange QB1 with the weapons he has around him in Cleveland.

4 weeks agoThe Detroit Lions re-signed cornerback Kindle Vildor to an undisclosed one-year deal on Wednesday. Vildor will return to Detroit after spending the 2023 season with the Lions and Tennessee Titans. In just seven games (two starts) between the two teams, he had 11 tackles (10 solo) and a forced fumble. Vildor also spent time with the Philadelphia Eagles last year but only played in NFL games in Detroit and Tennessee. The 26-year-old was originally a fifth-round pick (163rd overall) by the Chicago Bears in 2020 out of Georgia Southern. Vildor spent the first three years of his NFL career in Chicago and has a total of 108 tackles (77 solo), one sack, five tackles for loss, one interception, 12 passes defensed and a forced fumble in 51 games (24 starts) over four years in the league. It remains to be seen if Vildor will be a starter in 2024 after becoming a starter in Week 17 last year.

Caleb Williams, the potential No. 1 overall pick in this year's NFL draft, made his top-30 facility visit to the Chicago Bears on Wednesday, according to sources. Williams was in town for dinner on Tuesday night as well. It's likely his only visit with Chicago before they most likely take him with the No. 1 overall pick later this month. Justin Fields to the Pittsburgh Steelers this offseason, so Williams is fully expected to be taken first overall as Chicago's next franchise signal-caller. Williams' college production fell off in his final year in 2023, but he's still likely to start right away in Week 1 of his rookie season in the NFL this fall.

Rome Odunze, one of the very best wideouts in this year's draft class and a likely top-10 pick next month, visited with the New York Jets on Wednesday and will visit with the Chicago Bears on Thursday, according to a source. Odunze has already spent time with the New York Giants, too. The Bears are going to take USC quarterback
Caleb Williams with the first overall pick, but they could give Williams another weapon and take Odunze if he's on the board with their second top-10 pick at No. 9. The Giants have the sixth overall pick, while the Jets hold the No. 10 selection. The 21-year-old pass-catcher has elite speed and can also excel deep down the field on contested catches, and if he lands in the right situation, he could be an every-week fantasy starter in Year 1 in 2024. Odunze was ultra productive in 2023 for the Huskies, recording 1,640 receiving yards and 13 touchdowns.

4 weeks agoFree-agent veteran edge defender Randy Gregory is signing with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, according to Jordan Schultz of Bleacher Report. The 31-year-old spent most of last season with the San Francisco 49ers after being released by the Denver Broncos early in the 2023 campaign, and he now finds a new home in Tampa Bay. Overall, the 2015 second-round pick has accumulated 106 tackles (78 solo), 22 sacks, 10 forced fumbles, two fumble recoveries, one interception, three pass deflections, and 11.5 run stuffs in 60 career games with the 49ers, Broncos, and Cowboys. He has not lived up to his hype as a prospect, but he can be utilized as a solid rotational pass rusher. The Buccaneers lost former All-Pro rusher Shaq Barrett this offseason, so Gregory will help fill his role on the edge.

4 weeks agoThe Dallas Cowboys are re-signing veteran offensive lineman Chuma Edoga to a one-year deal, according to Jeremy Fowler of ESPN. The 26-year-old was originally selected by the New York Jets in the third round of the 2019 NFL Draft out of USC, and he spent three seasons with the team before one year with the Atlanta Falcons. Last year was his first season in Dallas, and he made six starts for one of the best offenses in the NFL. Edoga has the ability to play tackle or guard, so the team will likely need him to play a role in the offense after the departure of All-Pro left tackle Tyron Smith and Pro Bowl center Tyler Biadasz. Overall, he has 43 games of NFL experience, including 19 starts.

Patrick Taylor to a one-year deal, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter. The 25-year-old went undrafted following his final collegiate season at Memphis, and he has spent the last four years with the Green Bay Packers, mostly as a reserve. Through his first 34 NFL games, Taylor has rushed 65 times for 261 yards and one touchdown and caught 14 passes for 69 yards. With

4 weeks agoThe Washington Commanders announced on Wednesday that they have signed free-agent defensive lineman Haggai Chisom Ndubuisi to an undisclosed deal. Ndubuisi is entering his second year in the NFL after joining the Arizona Cardinals in 2022 and the Denver Broncos this last year as part of the league's International Player Pathway Program. He also played in the UFL with the San Antonio Brahmas last year before joining the Commanders. The 23-year-old appeared in just one preseason contest with the Broncos in 2023, recording two tackles. Ndubuisi then served on the team's practice squad for the rest of the year. The Nigerian native will simply be attempting to win a roster spot in Washington this summer out of training camp.

Brock Wright, according to a source. The Niners tried to pry Wright away from the Lions, but Detroit wasn't having it and will retain the 25-year-old as a backup to up-and-coming pass-catching tight end
Sam LaPorta. If Wright had gone to the Bay Area, he would have served as a backup to
George Kittle. The 25-year-old is mostly used as a blocker in the running game and isn't on the fantasy radar at all. The former undrafted free agent out of Notre Dame has only 43 receptions for 424 yards and seven touchdowns in three NFL seasons and had 13 catches (14 targets) for 91 yards and one touchdown in 14 regular-season games (four starts) in 2023.

1 month agoThe Atlanta Falcons are signing former standout defensive tackle Eddie Goldman to an undisclosed deal on Tuesday, according to a source. Goldman has come out of retirement and is attempting a comeback in 2024. The 30-year-old was a second-round selection (39th overall) by the Chicago Bears in 2015 out of Florida State, and Goldman spent the first six seasons of his career in the Windy City. He signed with Atlanta in 2022 before deciding to retire in each of the last two seasons. Goldman apparently can't make up his mind to walk away from the game and is going to attempt to run it back with the Falcons this year, but he hasn't played in an NFL game since 2021 with Chicago. In his six seasons with the Bears, Goldman has 175 tackles (116 solo), 13 sacks, 18 tackles for loss, 21 QB hits and two fumble recoveries in 81 games (73 starts).

1 month agoThe Los Angeles Chargers re-signed exclusive-rights free-agent kicker
Cameron Dicker to an undisclosed deal on Tuesday. The Chargers placed a tender on Dicker on March 8 and he finally signed it. The 23-year-old will return to LA in 2024 after making 31 of his 33 field-goal tries and all 35 of his extra-point attempts in 17 games last year. In his rookie season in 2022 with the Chargers and Philadelphia Eagles, Dicker went 21-for-22 on field goals to lead the league with a 95.5 field-goal percentage while also making all 24 of his extra points in 11 games. He finished the 2023 campaign as the No. 10 fantasy kicker and should be in play as a top-10 kicker once again as long as he doesn't lose the primary kicking job for the Chargers in training camp this summer.
