6 months agoMatt Frevola (11-4-1) had his three-fight win streak snapped on Saturday as he suffered a first-round knockout loss to Benoit Saint-Denis. Frevola started out strong as he went to his wrestling and went 2-for-2 on takedowns. However, he couldn't keep Saint-Denis down, and after the Frenchman got up for the second time, he landed a head kick that dropped Frevola. Saint-Denis only had to land one punch before the ref stepped in. In the loss, Frevola was outstruck 10-to-7 and is now 5-4-1 in the UFC and has been knocked out three times. The American will likely need to face another unranked opponent next time out.--Cole SheltonSource: UFC

6 months agoBenoit Saint-Denis scored a first-round knockout win over Matt Frevola at UFC 295 to extend his win streak to five. Saint-Denis entered the fight as a betting favorite, despite fighting a ranked opponent. Early on, Frevola looked to wrestle the Frenchman as the American went 2-for-2 on takedowns but Saint-Denis was able to get back to his feet. Once he returned standing, Saint-Denis landed a perfectly timed head kick that dropped Frevola, and after the Frenchman added some ground-and-pound shots, the ref stepped in. With the win, Saint-Denis will now enter the lightweight rankings and could very well get a top-10 opponent next.--Cole SheltonSource: UFC

6 months agoMackenzie Dern entered UFC 295 as a sizeable favorite but lost by second-round knockout to former strawweight champion Jessica Andrade. Dern was having some success on the fete in the first round but struggled to get it down to the mat as she went 0-for-3 on takedown attempts in the opening round. Then, with less than 30 seconds left in the round, Andrade dropped her to steal the round. In the second round, Dern went 0-for-1 on takedown attempts and was getting pieced up by Andrade. The Brazilian ended up knocking Dern down three more times in the second round, which forced the ref to stop the fight. Dern was officially outstruck 53-to-50 in the fight, but went 0-for-4 on takedowns and was knocked down four times in the loss. With the loss, Dern is now 8-4 in the UFC and 2-3 in her last five fights.--Cole SheltonSource: UFC

6 months agoSergei Pavlovich had his six-fight win streak snapped in the co-main event of UFC 295 on Saturday. Pavlovich was taking on Tom Aspinall for the interim heavyweight title. Right when the fight started, Pavlovich landed a big shot that appeared to have Aspinall hurt. However, the Russian failed to land another strike as Aspinall landed a nice combo that dropped Pavlovich and he was finished off with ground-and-pound strikes just 69 seconds into the fight. Pavlovich dropped to 6-2 in the UFC and all eight of his fights have ended in the first round. The Russian will likely need to win another fight or two to get another crack at a UFC title.--Cole SheltonSource: UFC

6 months agoTom Aspinall is now the UFC's interim heavyweight champion as he scored a TKO win over Sergei Pavlovich in the co-main event of UFC 295. Aspinall and Pavlovich took this fight on about two weeks' notice. Right away, Pavlovich landed a big shot that appeared to hurt Aspinall but the Brit was able to recover quickly. After recovering, Aspinall landed a nice combo that hurt Pavlovich and dropped him. Following Aspinall getting the knockdown, he landed some ground-and-pound shots which forced the ref to step in just 69 seconds into the fight. With the win, Aspinall is now the UFC's interim heavyweight champion and is in line to face the winner of Jon Jones vs. Stipe Miocic, should they continue to fight.--Cole SheltonSource: UFC

6 months agoAlex Pereira (8-2) and Jiri Prochazka will compete for a vacant belt after former champion Jamahal Hill stepped down due to an Achilles injury sustained during a basketball game. This is Pereira's second fight in the UFC's light heavyweight division, the first fight being with Jan Blachowicz which Pereira won via split decision. A victory on Saturday would make Pereira the fastest fighter to win two titles in the UFC, and doing so in his 11th professional MMA fight. DraftKings sees Pereira as the slight favorite with a salary of $8,400. He averages 77.1 fantasy points per contest through six UFC bouts.--Alen Kurbasic - RotoBallerSource: UFC

6 months agoJiri Prochazka (29-3-1) is looking to make the walk to the Octagon for the first time since suffering a devastating shoulder injury 15 months ago. Despite over a year of inactivity, Prochazka rides a 13-fight win streak into Saturday. Prochazka will go toe-to-toe with Alex Pereira in competition for the vacant light heavyweight title in the main event of UFC 295 at Madison Square Garden. Previous champion, Jamahal Hill vacated the light heavyweight belt after sustaining an Achilles injury during a basketball game. Prochazka enters the scrap as a slight underdog as DraftKings has him at a salary of $7,800, while in his three UFC fights, he's averaging 111.9 fantasy points. --Alen Kurbasic - RotoBallerSource: UFC

DraftKings sees Andrade as the underdog in this fight with a salary of $7,200. Throughout her UFC career of 25 bouts, she averages 77.6 fantasy points per contest.--Alen Kurbasic - RotoBallerSource: UFC

6 months agoDiego Lopes (10-2) takes on Pat Sabatini on the main card of UFC 295 this Saturday. The two standout grapplers are scheduled to meet in a featherweight bout to open the UFC 295 main card. Lopes made his UFC debut against Movsar Evloev at UFC 288 where he put Evloev in several dangerous positions. Even though he had several good moments, Evloev was victorious. DraftKings sees Lopes as the underdog in this fight with a salary of $7,900. Throughout his UFC career of six bouts, he averages 56.6 fantasy points per contest.--Alen Kurbasic - RotoBallerSource: UFC

DraftKings sees Sabatini as the favorite in this fight with a salary of $8,300. Throughout his UFC career of six bouts, he averages 83.3 fantasy points per contest.--Alen Kurbasic - RotoBallerSource: UFC

6 months agoBenoit Saint-Denis (12-1) is coming off fighting at home in Paris, France in September and will now go into enemy territory on Saturday. Saint-Denis is set to fight in New York City, New York at UFC 295 and will take on local fighter and 14th-ranked lightweight Matt Frevola. Saint-Denis enters the fight on a four-fight winning streak and his lone career loss was in his debut, which he took on short notice and up a weight class at welterweight. The Frenchman enters this scrap as a sizeable betting favorite as DraftKings has him at a salary of $9,100 which is the fourth-highest on the card and in his five UFC appearances, he's averaging 120.32 fantasy points per outing. Saint-Denis has won all four of his fights in the UFC by stoppage and has yet to see a third-round. A win over Frevola will put Saint-Denis in the rankings.--Cole SheltonSource: UFC

6 months agoMatt Frevola (11-3-1) is set to fight at home in Madison Square Garden in New York City, New York for the second straight year as he's set to face Benoit Saint-Denis at UFC 295. Frevola enters this fight on a three-fight win streak and has won all three fights by first-round knockout and is coming off an upset TKO win over Drew Dober back in May. Despite being ranked 14th and on a winning streak, Frevola enters his UFC 295 fight as a sizeable underdog as DraftKings has him at a salary of $7,100 which is the fourth-lowest on the card. In his nine UFC fights, Frevola is 5-3-1 and is averaging 66.43 fantasy points per fight, as he has been knocked out in two of his three losses. A win over Saint-Denis should get Frevola a top-10 opponent next time out.--Cole SheltonSource: UFC
Share:
6 months agoMackenzie Dern (13-3) is set to take on former strawweight champion Jessica Andrade on the main card of UFC 295. Dern is coming off a decision win over Angela Hill back in May, which served as the main event of a Fight Night card. Dern is just 2-2 in her last four but is a sizeable favorite over Andrade as DraftKings has her at a salary of $9,000 which is the fifth-highest on the card. In her 11 UFC fights, Dern is averaging 83.95 fantasy points per fight as she's finished four of her eight wins by stoppage. However, Dern has gone the distance in five of her last six fights. A win over Andrade could put Dern a win or two away from getting a title shot.--Cole SheltonSource: UFC

6 months agoSergei Pavlovich (18-1) is set to fight Tom Aspinall in the co-main event of UFC 295 for the interim heavyweight title from Madison Square Garden in New York City, New York. Pavlovich and Aspinall took this fight on two weeks' notice after Jon Jones vs. Stipe Miocic for the undisputed heavyweight title was off due to an injury to Jones. Pavlovich is currently 6-1 in the UFC and riding a six-fight win streak but is a slight underdog as DraftKings has the Russian at a salary of $8,000. In his seven UFC fights, Pavlovich is averaging 102.99 fantasy points per fight as he has won all six fights by first-round knockout, his lone loss also came by first-round TKO. --Cole SheltonSource: UFC
Share:
6 months agoTom Aspinall (13-3) is set to fight Sergei Pavlovich for the interim heavyweight title in the co-main event of UFC 295 in Madison Square Garden on Saturday. Aspinall and Pavlovich agreed to this fight on two weeks' notice, so neither man got much of a training camp. The Brit is coming off a 73-second TKO win over Marcin Tybura back in July which was his first fight in a year after he tore his ACL in 15 seconds against Curtis Blaydes. Heading into UFC 295, Aspinall is a slight favorite as DraftKings has him at a salary of $8,200 while in his seven UFC fights, he's averaging 93.65 fantasy points per outing. Aspinall has finished all six of UFC wins with five of them coming in the first round. --Cole SheltonSource: UFC
