3 weeks agoNew York Giants restricted free-agent cornerback Nick McCloud signed his free-agent tender offer on Monday to officially return to the team for the 2024 season. McCloud played in all 17 regular-season games (three starts) but was injured in the regular-season finale against the Philadelphia Eagles. The 25-year-old finished his third year in the NFL with 28 tackles (20 solo), his first career interception, three forced fumbles and three fumble recoveries. He entered the NFL in 2021 with the Cincinnati Bengals as an undrafted free agent out of Notre Dame. In his three years in the league, McCloud has picked up 71 tackles (55 solo), 1.5 sacks, one interception, nine passes defended, three forced fumbles and three fumble recoveries in 33 games (11 starts).Source: KPRC 2 Sports - Aaron Wilson
3 weeks agoLos Angeles Rams running back Ronnie Rivers and offensive lineman Alaric Jackson both signed their free-agent tender offers on Monday. Rivers will be heading into his third year with the Rams in 2024 after entering the NFL in 2022 with LA as an undrafted free agent out of Fresno State. The 25-year-old had 32 carries last year for 129 yards and caught all five of his targets for 22 additional yards in nine regular-season games (one start) in his second year. Depending on what the Rams do in the upcoming NFL draft, Rivers could be battling with Zach Evans for the No. 2 backfield role in training camp this summer behind starter Kyren Williams. At best, Rivers will be a handcuff option in deeper leagues for fantasy managers that take Williams.Source: Los Angeles Rams
3 weeks agoThe Green Bay Packers re-signed exclusive-rights free-agent running back Emanuel Wilson to an undisclosed deal on Monday. Wilson entered the league as an undrafted free agent out of Fort Valley State in 2023 with the Packers and had 14 carries for 85 yards and caught four of five targets for 23 additional yards in seven regular-season games (zero starts) in his rookie campaign. Barring injuries to the team's running back room, the 24-year-old should be in line for a similar depth role behind backs Josh Jacobs and AJ Dillon in 2024, making him pretty useless to begin the year in fantasy circles. Wilson is currently the team's No. 3 RB, but that could change, depending on what the Packers do at the position in the upcoming NFL draft.Source: KPRC 2 Sports - Aaron Wilson

3 weeks agoLas Vegas Raiders star edge rusher Maxx Crosby (knee) is back to 100 percent health and is as optimistic as ever entering his first full year under head coach Antonio Pierce in 2024. "Recovery and rehab has been incredible," Crosby said on Monday. "I just did my conditioning tests last week and smashed it. And I'm feeling better than I ever have, so it's been an incredible offseason so far." Despite dealing with a nagging knee injury last year, Crosby had career-highs in sacks (14.5), tackles (90) and tackles for loss (23) in 17 games to earn his third Pro Bowl selection and a second-team All-Pro selection. It's scary to think what a fully healthy Crosby could do in 2024 as one of the best pure pass-rushers in the NFL.Source: NFL.com - Nick Shook
3 weeks agoFlorida State quarterback Jordan Travis (ankle) is visiting with the New York Jets on Monday. The 23-year-old fractured and dislocated his left ankle on Nov. 18, yet he still finished fifth in the 2023 Heisman Trophy voting. Travis threw for over 8,000 yards and 66 touchdowns and rushed for nearly 2,000 yards and 31 touchdowns in his 49 college games, so he has plenty of experience to be at least a quality backup in the NFL. The Jets have Aaron Rodgers (Achilles) and Tyrod Taylor on the roster, but with Rodgers set to turn 41 years old at the end of next season, the organization could start to throw darts at the quarterback position in the later round of the next few drafts. Travis has been back on the field in the days leading up to this year's draft.Source: NFL.com
3 weeks agoThe Las Vegas Raiders have signed interior offensive lineman Cody Whitehair, according to NFL insider Field Yates. The 31-year-old was selected by the Chicago Bears in the 2016 NFL Draft, and he spent his entire eight-year NFL career in the Windy City before becoming a free agent this offseason. He earned a trip to the Pro Bowl in 2018. Whitehair has played in 124 games (118 starts) and has experience at both left guard and center. The Raiders could take a swing on a quarterback in the first round of the upcoming NFL Draft, and building up the offensive line is a key priority, as shown by this signing.Source: Field Yates
3 weeks agoWestern Kentucky wide receiver and 2024 NFL Draft prospect Malachi Corley is visiting with the New Orleans Saints on Monday, and he is scheduled to visit with the Seattle Seahawks later in the week. The 22-year-old put his name on the NFL radar after catching 180 passes for 2,279 yards and 22 touchdowns over the last two seasons (26 games). Corley is dangerous after the catch, which has become more coveted in the modern NFL. He is expected to be a Day 2 selection in this month's draft. The Saints are seeking an adequate WR2 behind Chris Olave, while the Seahawks should be content with their top three wideouts in DK Metcalf, Tyler Lockett, and Jaxon Smith-Njigba. Either way, teams are going to go through the process with top prospects.Source: Ian Rapoport
3 weeks agoThe Tampa Bay Buccaneers announced on X that veteran defensive lineman Will Gholston is re-signing with the organization. 2024 will mark the 12th season Gholston will have played in Tampa Bay. Originally a fourth-round selection in the 2013 NFL Draft, the Michigan State product has racked up 419 tackles, 19.5 sacks, two forced fumbles, three fumble recoveries, one interception, and 14 pass deflections in 169 career games. His production has dropped off in recent years, but the team evidently values him as a veteran presence in the locker room. He is likely to remain a rotational player on Tampa Bay's stout defensive front.Source: Ian Rapoport
3 weeks agoGeorgia tight end Brock Bowers will be in Florham Park on Monday on an official visit with the New York Jets. The 6-foot-3, 243-pounder would give quarterback Aaron Rodgers yet another intriguing weapon in 2024 if the Jets were to select Bowers in the upcoming NFL draft. Bowers was a three-time first-team All American in his three years with the Bulldogs while leading Georgia in receiving all three years. He's easily regarded as the best tight end in this year's class and could come off the board as early as 10th overall in the first round to the Jets. In his three years at Georgia, Bowers caught 175 passes for 2,538 yards and 26 touchdowns. He could be fantasy relevant immediately in his first year in the NFL, but if he lands with the Jets, he'll have a lot of competition for targets.Source: FOX Sports - Peter Schrager
3 weeks agoThe New England Patriots had dinner with Michigan quarterback J.J. McCarthy on Sunday night and are hosting him on a visit on Monday in Foxborough, according to a source. The Patriots own the No. 3 overall pick and previously hosted North Carolina's Drake Maye and LSU's Jayden Daniels. It's no surprise that the Pats are doing their due diligence on this year's top quarterbacks not named Caleb Williams, who is expected to be taken first overall by the Chicago Bears. McCarthy's draft stock has soared since his impressive pro day, and it seems more likely that he'll now be taken within the top-10 selections later this month. New England continues to try and figure out the QB position since Tom Brady left, as the Mac Jones experiment clearly didn't work out. The Patriots traded him to the Jacksonville Jaguars this offseason.Source: NFL Network - Tom Pelissero
3 weeks agoNew York Giants quarterback Daniel Jones (knee), who is returning from a torn ACL that he suffered in 2023, told reporters on Monday that the plan is for him to be fully cleared for training camp this summer. Jones has not had any setbacks since undergoing surgery on Nov. 22 to fix his right ACL tear. The 26-year-old also said the neck injury he dealt with last year before hurting his knee is in the rearview mirror. Despite the fact that the Giants are considering drafting another QB at the end of this month, they continue to say that Jones will be the unquestioned starter under center when he returns from his knee injury. Although Jones had a career year in 2022, plenty of questions remain as to whether he can repeat that performance, especially now that running back Saquon Barkley is no longer in town. Consider him a low-upside QB2 with more question marks coming off a serious knee injury.Source: The 33rd Team - Ari Meirov
3 weeks agoNew York Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers (Achilles), who is coming off a torn left Achilles suffered in the season opener in 2023, was present for Day 1 of the team's voluntary offseason workouts on Monday. Despite being 40 years old and coming off a pretty serious injury that knocked him out for all of last year, the future Hall of Famer is hoping to play multiple more seasons. Rodgers was able to return to practices late last season, so barring some sort of setback this offseason or in training camp this summer, Rodgers will be ready to go for Week 1 of the 2024 regular season. He has plenty of weapons around him in New York's offense, but it's fair to wonder how an aging signal-caller will do coming off a lost season. At best, fantasy managers should treat him as a low-end QB1 injury risk in drafts this fall.Source: NFL Network - Ian Rapoport
3 weeks agoThe Indianapolis Colts and three-time Pro Bowl defensive tackle DeForest Buckner agreed to a two-year, $46 million contract extension on Monday that ties him to the Colts through the 2026 season, according to sources. The Colts traded the No. 13 overall pick to the San Francisco 49ers in 2020 for Buckner and quickly signed him to a four-year, $84 million extension. The 30-year-old pass-rusher will stick around in Indianapolis for two more years after recording 166 solo tackles, 32.5 sacks, 42 tackles for loss, 87 QB hits, 16 passes defended, six forced fumbles and three fumble recoveries (one returned for a touchdown) in 66 regular-season games (62 starts) since the Colts acquired him from San Fran in 2020. He'll remain relevant in IDP fantasy leagues in 2024 despite being an interior defensive lineman.Source: ESPN - Adam Schefter
3 weeks agoKansas City Chiefs head coach Andy Reid told reporters that he's spoken to wide receiver Rashee Rice, who will be virtual for the first phase of offseason conditioning. "I'm leaving that, like we've done most of these, for the law enforcement part to take place and then we will go from there with that," Reid said. Rice turned himself into authorities after an arrest warrant was issued stemming from a March 30 multi-car accident in which he was driving one of the cars. The 23-year-old is facing eight charges as a result of the incident that caused bodily injuries to some of the people involved. The legal process needs to play out first, but Rice's fantasy value going into the 2024 season could be hurt by the fact that the NFL could hand him a suspension to start the season. Rice was quarterback Patrick Mahomes' favorite weapon outside of tight end Travis Kelce in 2023.Source: NFL Network - Ian Rapoport
