Nomar Mazara Signs Minor-League Deal With O's
2 years agoThe Baltimore Orioles agreed to a minor-league deal with free-agent outfielder Nomar Mazara on Tuesday. The San Diego Padres designated Mazara for assignment in late August and he cleared waivers. The 27-year-old left-handed-hitting outfielder actually had a decent season for the Friars, slashing .264/.316/.352 with two home runs, 18 RBI and 16 runs scored in 171 plate appearances and 55 games before the Padres swung the blockbuster trade with the Washington Nationals to acquire right fielder Juan Soto. Mazara will be hoping to win a roster spot out of spring training with the Orioles heading into the 2023 season.
