Matt Corral May Not Be Ready For Start Of OTAs
2 years agoCarolina Panthers head coach Frank Reich said that quarterback Matt Corral (foot) may not be ready for the start of organized team activities this offseason. Corral is recovering from surgery for a Lisfranc foot injury, so it shouldn't be a huge surprise that he'll be behind early in the offseason. The 24-year-old missed all of his rookie season in 2022 after having surgery last September, but there's a good chance he'll be cleared by the time training camp begins this summer. It remains to be seen what the Panthers will do this offseason to address the QB position, but they will surely bring in competition under center for Corral and PJ Walker, who are the only signal-callers on Carolina's current roster. Sam Darnold will become a free agent on March 15.
