Lightning Trade Pat Maroon To Wild
1 year agoThe Minnesota Wild have acquired veteran winger Pat Maroon in a trade with the Tampa Bay Lightning. He was shipped out on Sunday along with minor-league forward Max Cajkovic for a seventh-round pick in next year's draft. As part of the deal, the Lightning will retain 20 percent of Maroon's $1 million salary. The 35-year-old had a very successful time in Tampa, winning two Stanley Cups in four years, while playing an effective game as a fourth-liner. However, the team is now looking to add more speed to the lineup and this made Maroon disposable. He will add veteran leadership and physical presence to the Wild squad.
