2 years agoChicago White Sox infielder Leury Garcia is being viewed as a backup heading into spring training this year. The White Sox and new manager Pedro Grifol are expected to use more of Romy Gonzalez and Lenyn Sosa at the keystone in 2023. The good news for Garcia is that he can also play some corner outfield, although playing time could be an issue there as well with Andrew Benintendi now on the team. The 31-year-old Dominican hit a disappointing .210/.233/.267 with a .500 OPS, three home runs, 20 RBI and 38 runs scored in 315 plate appearances and 97 games in his 10th year with the club. Fantasy managers in mixed leagues can probably avoid him unless an injury to another player opens up regular playing time for Garcia.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
