Montreal Canadiens left wing Juraj Slafkovsky has promised to play better next season than he did during his rookie campaign. After getting selected first overall in last year's draft, the Slovakian teenager posted only four goals and six assists in 39 appearances before a knee injury ended his debut campaign in January. "I expect the pressure from the fans to be even higher," Slafkovsky told Slovak hockey insider Tomas Prokop. "I believe I'm well prepared, and I'll play better than in my rookie season. I have my goals, but I'll keep them secret." Slafkovsky's debut season was a big disappointment, but he also didn't play much, averaging only 12:12 of ice time per game. With more minutes and confidence, better stats should eventually follow.--Taavi Pailk - RotoBaller
