Jorge Barrosa Sent Back To Triple-A
Jorge Barrosa back to Triple-A on Wednesday after the team's extra-inning loss to the New York Yankees. The team's No. 12 prospect, per MLB Pipeline, was called up to the big leagues for the first time on Monday when the team put center fielder Alek Thomas (hamstring) on the injured list. The 23-year-old had two hits (one double), an RBI, one run scored and a strikeout in his first 10 big-league plate appearances over three games played (two starts) this week. It appears that veteran Randal Grichuk (ankle) is getting set to come off the injured list as outfield depth for Arizona. However, the switch-hitting Barrosa could definitely be back up with the D-backs in 2024 and offers some decent slugging upside for those in NL-only leagues if he returns.
