Jon Duplantier Shut Down 6-7 Days
6 years agoArizona Diamondbacks starting pitcher Jon Duplantier (shoulder) will be shut down for six to seven days, but manager Torey Lovullo said his MRI exam came back positive. The club's No. 2 prospect, per MLB Pipeline, will miss several turns through the rotation and it's unclear if he'll return to Arizona's rotation or be sent down to the minors once he comes off the injured list. He's been decent with a 4.32 ERA, 1.32 WHIP, 24 strikeouts and nine walks in 25 innings over three starts and five relief appearances in the desert. Duplantier has long-term upside as a starter but probably won't be all that consistent for those in deep mixed leagues in his rookie season.
