Jared Walsh To Start Rehab Assignment Friday
2 years agoLos Angeles Angels first baseman Jared Walsh (head) will start his minor-league rehab assignment with Triple-A Salt Lake on Friday. It's unknown yet if Walsh will need a short or long rehab assignment, and it will all depend on how he reacts to playing in games again while missing all of the 2023 season to this point due to recurring migraines. The 29-year-old left-handed hitter should eventually be a fixture in the middle of the Angels' lineup against right-handed pitching, though, so he could make a difference for fantasy managers once he's active. Walsh was an All-Star in 2021 for the Halos but hit a disappointing .215/.269/.374 with 18 doubles, two triples, 15 home runs and 44 RBI in his 118 games played last year. Gio Urshela, Brandon Drury and Jake Lamb have all seen starts at first base for the Angels in the last week.
