Jake Bauers Goes On Injured List, Franchy Cordero Called Up
1 year agoThe New York Yankees placed outfielder Jake Bauers (shoulder) on the 10-day injured list (retroactive to July 6) on Friday with a left rotator-cuff contusion and recalled infielder/outfielder Franchy Cordero from Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre in a corresponding move. It's unknown how long Bauers will be out after injuring his left shoulder while diving for a ball in the outfield on Wednesday. The 27-year-old was seeing regular playing time in right field with Aaron Judge (toe) out and was hitting .224 with seven homers in 134 at-bats. Cordero could now see decent playing time in right for the Yanks until Judge is able to return. He's starting in right and batting ninth on Friday against Chicago Cubs right-hander Jameson Taillon.
