Jacob Gilyard Sets Record With Seven Steals
1 year agoMemphis Grizzlies point guard Jacob Gilyard played an outstanding defensive game in Wednesday's Summer League clash against the Thunder, registering seven steals in 29 minutes of action. This marks a new Salt Lake City Summer League record for most steals in a single game. Gilyard added 10 points, four rebounds, and six assists to his tally with 3-for-4 shooting from deep. The former Richmond Spider is the NCAA's all-time leader in steals and Gilyard's defensive ability can definitely be an asset for an NBA team, but at five-foot-nine, he's very short even for a guard and this makes it hard for him to earn a regular role in the league.
