The Seattle Seahawks claimed quarterback Jacob Eason off waivers from the Indianapolis Colts on Wednesday. Eason was waived on Tuesday when the Colts activated Sam Ehlinger (knee) from Injured Reserve, but it didn't take him long to find a landing spot. The Seahawks needed a backup behind Geno Smith with Russell Wilson (finger) on Injured Reserve, and Eason will be that man. The Seahawks also have Jake Luton as an option at the position on the practice squad if anything were to happen to Smith while Wilson is sidelined. There's no guarantee that the 23-year-old Eason will stick around in Seattle once Wilson is healthy enough to return as the starter.--Keith Hernandez
