Jace Sternberger Suspended For First Two Games In 2021
4 years agoGreen Bay Packers tight end Jace Sternberger has been suspended without pay for the first two games of the 2021 regular season for violating the league's policy on substances of abuse. He will be eligible to return to the active roster on Tuesday, Sept. 11, following the Week 2 game against the Detroit Lions. In his second season with Green Bay, the 24-year-old from Texas A&M caught just 12 passes for 114 yards and one touchdown in 12 games (no starts) for the Packers. It's more disappointment after Sternberger failed to break out last year. Instead it was teammate Robert Tonyan, who had a career year (52 receptions, 586 yards and a league-tying 11 touchdowns). Tonyan is the tight end to own in fantasy as a touchdown-dependent, low-end TE1, if quarterback Aaron Rodgers is back in the fold.
