J.D. McKissic Won't Play In Week 9
2 years agoWashington Commanders running back J.D. McKissic (neck) will not play in Week 9 against the Minnesota Vikings. Head coach Ron Rivera said that McKissic has already or will see a specialist for his neck and will approach the injury with caution. It sounds as though the 29-year-old could be in danger of missing more time beyond this weekend. Antonio Gibson had seven receptions for 58 yards and his second straight receiving touchdown last weekend and should benefit from more dump-off passes from quarterback Taylor Heinicke against Minnesota, making him an attractive PPR flex option. Rookie Brian Robinson should continue to operate mostly on early downs, and Jonathan Williams should serve as the No. 3 with McKissic out.
