Hurricanes Announce Caleb Jones Signing
1 year agoThe Carolina Hurricanes have signed defenseman Caleb Jones to a one-year, $775,000 contract. The team is adding further quality to what already looks like the strongest blue line in the NHL. "Caleb is a reliable, two-way defenseman," said Hurricanes president and general manager Waddell. "His NHL experience will help boost our depth on defense." Jones played the previous two seasons in Chicago and had a career-high 16 points (four goals, 12 assists) in 73 games last term, but the Blackhawks didn't extend him a qualifying offer, making the 26-year-old an unrestricted free agent. Jones has tallied 50 points (14 goals, 36 assists) in total across 217 regular-season appearances.
