Dallas Cowboys quarterback Garrett Gilbert is the early favorite to win backup duties behind starter Dak Prescott for the 2021 season. Gilbert started in Week 9 last season and did a decent job, completing 21-of-38 passes for 243 yards, a touchdown, and one interception. According to Cowboys beat writer Jon Machota, the 30-year-old Gilbert will be competing with 2020 rookie Ben DiNucci for the QB2 role in Dallas. With Prescott recovering from a major ankle injury though, it wouldn't be a surprise to see them try to pick up a more experienced backup just in case.--David A Marcillo
