Eric Haase Signs One-Year Deal With Brewers
12 months agoFree-agent catcher Eric Haase signed a one-year deal with the Milwaukee Brewers on Wednesday. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. Haase heads to the National League after having spent the 2023 season splitting time with the Detroit Tigers and Cleveland Guardians. In 89 games with both teams, he hit just .201/.247/.281 with four home runs, eight doubles, a triple, 26 RBI, four stolen bases and 22 runs scored in 293 plate appearances. The 31-year-old veteran did have a total of 36 home runs and 105 RBI in two seasons for the Tigers from 2021 and 2022, so he does have some notable pop in his bat at a weak position in fantasy. However, he will mostly serve in a backup role for the Brew Crew behind starting backstop William Contreras.
