Dinelson Lamet Designated For Assignment By Rockies
1 year agoThe Colorado Rockies designated right-hander Dinelson Lamet for assignment on Saturday and recalled left-hander Gavin Hollowell from Triple-A Albuquerque in a corresponding move. Lamet gets cut after providing a horrendous 11.57 ERA, 2.34 WHIP and 22 walks in 25 2/3 innings over 16 appearances (four starts) for the Rockies this year. The Rockies were hoping moving Lamet to a starting role would help him, but that wasn't the case. Hollowell skipped Triple-A in 2022 to make six relief appearances in his big-league debut, and he allowed seven runs (six earned) on seven hits while walking four and fanning eight in seven innings. He has dealt with back and forearm injuries in 2023, but he had a 1.54 ERA with 14 K's and six walks in 11 2/3 innings on the farm. Noah Davis is a candidate to take Lamet's rotation spot in Colorado.
