Deon Jackson An Option To Start Early On For Colts
1 year agoIndianapolis Colts running back Jonathan Taylor (ankle) wasn't traded and will miss at least the first four games of the season while on the Physically Unable to Perform list. Zack Moss (arm) is the likely starter with Taylor sidelined, but he's not a lock to be ready for Week 1 due to a broken right arm. Deon Jackson started two of the team's three preseason games, so he's an option to start, although rookie fifth-rounder Evan Hull will also be in the mix. Rookie first-round quarterback Anthony Richardson's rushing abilities will allow first-year head coach Shane Steichen to scheme up some more rushing yards as the Colts look to get by without Taylor early on. Unless you're in an extremely deep fantasy league, it's probably best to avoid Jackson or Hull in an offense that could struggle out of the gates with an inexperienced rookie signal-caller.
