DeAndre Hopkins Activated, Matt Ammendola Released
2 years agoThe Arizona Cardinals activated wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins to the 53-man active roster on Monday and released kicker Matt Ammendola in a corresponding move. Hopkins finished serving his six-game suspension and will make his season debut in Week 7 against the New Orleans Saints on Thursday night, where he should be quarterback Kyler Murray's top receiving target now that Marquise Brown (foot) is out for around six weeks. Hopkins dealt with a sprained MCL in 2021, but he should be well past that injury now. The Cardinals cutting Ammendola suggests that they think Matt Prater (hip) will be able to return on Thursday after a two-game absence. If not, the team will need to add another kicker early this week.
