David Peralta Sitting In First Game Of Doubleheader
1 year agoLos Angeles Dodgers outfielder David Peralta is starting on the bench on Tuesday for Game 1 of a doubleheader against the Colorado Rockies at Coors Field. Enrique Hernandez is in left field and batting sixth, James Outman is manning center and is hitting seventh, and Jason Heyward is starting in right field and in the five-hole against Rockies right-hander Chase Anderson in the first game of a double dip. Peralta hasn't started in the last two games for the Dodgers as he endures a rough patch at the plate. The 36-year-old left-handed hitter has gone just 7-for-42 (.167) with no homers, four doubles, three RBI, 13 strikeouts, one steal and three runs scored in 16 games (11 starts) in September. If he doesn't pick it up in the final week of the regular season, Peralta may see his playing time suffer in the postseason.
