Daniel Mengden Picks Up Win In Shaky Start
Oakland Athletics starting pitcher Daniel Mengden allowed five earned runs, eight hits and no walks with two homers allowed and five strikeouts over 5 2/3 innings in a win against the Minnesota Twins on Tuesday. He threw 61 of his 85 pitches for strikes, including 16 first-pitch strikes to the 24 batters he faced. Despite the shaky outing, Mengden has won back-to-back starts for the first time since winning four straight outings from May 15-31, 2018. He'll look to make it three in a row on Sunday in Seattle.
