The Texas Rangers officially placed shortstop Corey Seager (appendix) on the 10-day injured list (retroactive to Aug. 28) on Friday and selected the contract of infielder/outfielder Dylan Moore from Triple-A Round Rock in a corresponding move. The Rangers also moved outfielder Evan Carter (wrist) to the 60-day IL, ending his season. Seager had a successful appendectomy on Thursday and is expected to miss the next few weeks, but the Rangers are optimistic he'll be able to return before the end of the regular season. Moore will be a utility option off the bench for the team with Seager sidelined, while Josh Smith and Ezequiel Duran should split playing time at the 6. Duran is getting the start at short on Friday and is hitting second for the series opener against the Athletics. Seager needs to be stashed in all fantasy leagues, but there's also a possibility he may not make it back in 2025.--Keith Hernandez
