Christian Kirk Unexciting Flex Option In Week 1 Against Miami
3 months agoJacksonville Jaguars wide receiver Christian Kirk (calf) dealt with a calf injury during training camp but wasn't listed in the team's Week 1 injury report. He had a solid season last year, finishing tied for 33rd in fantasy points per game. With Calvin Ridley gone, he has a chance to step up as the WR1. Still, he will have a lot of hungry competition for top dog, whether from returnee tight end Evan Engram or first-round draft pick Brian Thomas Jr. Kirk didn't touch the ball during the preseason, so it's hard to know for sure what his role will look like in 2024. There is a chance he is the top receiver in a good-to-great offense, while there is also a chance he is the WR3 in a mediocre offense. Week 1 will give Kirk fantasy managers much information on what his season will look like. That said, the Dolphins serve as a pretty good opening matchup, making Kirk a decent flex option. He slots in as a mid-range WR3 and is RotoBaller's WR29 for Week 1, but fantasy managers may want to find higher upside options to put in their flex spot instead.
