Chris Evans Looks Good In Preseason Opener
1 year agoCincinnati Bengals running back Chris Evans served as the team's starting RB in the preseason opener on Friday night against the Green Bay Packers with the team holding starting RB Joe Mixon out. Evans looked pretty good in the 36-19 loss, rushing seven times for 49 yards. Most of the 25-year-old's production came on a 33-yard run on the team's third drive of the night. He was unable to reel in his only target through the air. After Evans left, rookie Chase Brown saw a team-high eight carries but gained just 12 yards. Brown also had three receptions for 33 yards. If Evans continues to look good in the preseason, he should be able to easily lock down the backup job to Mixon in 2023 now that Samaje Perine is in Denver.
