The Seattle Mariners have signed free-agent infielder Cesar Hernandez to a minor-league deal. The 32-year-old was recently released by the Detroit Tigers after failing to make the Opening Day roster. The expectation is that Hernandez will serve as organizational depth for Seattle. Last season, Hernandez hit .248/.311/.318 with a .629 OPS, one home run, 34 RBI with the Washington Nationals.
