Cam Sims Returns To Washington
4 years agoThe Washington Football Team re-signed restricted free-agent wide receiver Cam Sims on Wednesday. Washington put the right-of-first-refusal tender on Sims on March 16, which is worth $2.133 million for the 2021 season. He played for $675,000 last year. Sims had just two catches for 27 yards in his first two NFL seasons, and he had three catches for 39 yards while playing 16 offensive snaps six games into his third season. But he started to see more playing time after that in 2020 and started the final 10 games of the season and Washington's playoff game. The 25-year-old finished with 32 catches for 477 yards and a touchdown and finished second to Terry McLaurin in catches and receiving yards. Sims showed he can produce last season, but it's unclear how big of a role he'll have behind McLaurin and Curtis Samuel in 2021.
