Brian Johnson Gives Red Sox A Chance
5 years agoBoston Red Sox pitcher Brian Johnson finished just 3 2/3 innings, while allowing three runs on six hits to go with four strikeouts and two walks in Tuesday's 3-2 loss to the Phillies. The southpaw gave up all three runs in the first inning before settling down. He needed 67 pitches in the short outing, which marked his fourth start in August. Since Chris Sale is shut down for the year, Johnson is expected to soak up a rotation spot. However, his 6.58 ERA and 2.04 WHIP in 26 2/3 innings is putrid. To top it off, his longest outing this year is 5 innings during a start back in June, so he isn't even stream-able in a solid matchup.
