Brett Kennedy Re-Signs With Reds
12 months agoThe Cincinnati Reds re-signed right-hander Brett Kennedy to a minor-league deal. Kennedy pitched for his second different team in the majors in 2023 when he made five appearances (two starts) for the Reds this past season. In 18 innings, he had a 6.50 ERA (4.64 FIP) and 1.44 WHIP while walking seven and striking out nine. In his big-league debut back in 2018 for the San Diego Padres, Kennedy allowed 20 earned runs on 36 hits (six home runs) while walking 12 and striking out 18 in 26 2/3 frames over his six starts. The 29-year-old had a 4.81 ERA in 17 appearances (16 starts) for Triple-A Louisville in 2023. Kennedy will most likely open up the 2024 season back on the farm for the Reds as right-handed pitching depth.
