Brenan Hanifee Signs Minor-League Deal With Tigers
12 months agoFree agent pitcher Brenan Hanifee has signed a minor-league deal with the Detroit Tigers. The right-hander was non-tendered by Detroit earlier in the offseason but will return to the organization for the 2024 campaign. Hanifee, a fourth-round pick of the Orioles in 2016, made his big-league debut with the Tigers in 2023, surrendering three earned runs, one home run, and zero walks against three strikeouts in three appearances and five innings of work. He worked both as a starter and a reliever across 25 outings with Triple-A Toledo as well, tossing a 4.38 ERA alongside a healthy 57.2% ground-ball rate. Hanifee's minors pact comes with an invite to big-league spring training.
