Billy Hamilton Heads Back To The White Sox
2 years agoThe Chicago White Sox re-signed outfielder Billy Hamilton to a minor-league deal on Saturday that includes a non-roster invite to spring training, according to a source. Hamilton was a contributor on the 2021 American League Central title team. He split the 2022 campaign with the Miami Marlins and Minnesota Twins, slashing a combined .050/.136/.050 with 13 runs scored and 10 stolen bases in only 23 plate appearances and 37 games played. The 32-year-old hit .220/.242/.378 in 135 plate appearances for the Pale Hose in 2021 with nine stolen bases. At best, the veteran speedster will be a bench option for Chicago in 2023, but he's highly unlikely to earn regular playing time in the outfield unless injuries hit the White Sox hard.
