Anton Forsberg Good To Go For The Start Of Season
1 year agoOttawa Senators goaltender Anton Forsberg (knees) is back healthy again and ready to go for the start of the season. The Swedish netminder was forced to end the 2023-23 campaign early after tearing the MCL in both of his knees in a game against Edmonton on Feb. 11. "I've been back to 100 percent for a long time," Forsberg told Ian Mendes of The Athletic. "I would have been back last year if we made the playoffs." Forsberg went 11-11-2 with the Senators last season before getting injured, registering a 3.26 goals-against average with a .902 save percentage and a couple of shutouts. He will share the crease with his good friend Joonas Korpisalo in 2023-24. "I think at the end of the day, it's going to come down to who is playing the best. And that's how it should be," Forsberg said of the competition between the two. "If (Korpisalo) plays better, he should play. If I play better, I should play. That's the way I look at it. This is a team game and the best players should be playing. And I'm looking forward to it."
