1 year agoThe Arizona Diamondbacks signed free-agent infielder Andres Chaparro to a minor-league deal on Wednesday. Chaparro has big power and hit 25 home runs and drove in 89 runs in 137 games in the New York Yankees organization with Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre in 2023. The 24-year-old slugger has the ability to play both third base and first base as well. He was one of the most sought-after minor-league free agents this offseason, and the National League champions will now secure his services for the 2024 campaign. Before clubbing 25 long balls last season, Chaparro hit 19 home runs and posted a strong .963 OPS in 64 games at Double-A Somerset in 2022.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
