Aaron Sanchez Designated For Assignment On Saturday
The Washington Nationals designated pitcher Aaron Sanchez for assignment on Saturday. Washington will keep reliever Andrés Machado on the roster while the move to designate Sanchez opens up a spot in the team's starting five until Stephen Strasburg (neck) returns. Sanchez has struggled mightily this season, posting an 8.33 ERA, 1.76 WHIP, and 16 strikeouts over 31 1/3 innings. The 29-year-old will report to Triple-A Rochester or test free agency if the right-hander goes unclaimed. Fantasy managers can leave Sanchez on the waiver wire.
