Aaron Sanchez Designated For Assignment On Saturday
3 years agoThe Washington Nationals designated pitcher Aaron Sanchez for assignment on Saturday. Washington will keep reliever Andrés Machado on the roster while the move to designate Sanchez opens up a spot in the team's starting five until Stephen Strasburg (neck) returns. Sanchez has struggled mightily this season, posting an 8.33 ERA, 1.76 WHIP, and 16 strikeouts over 31 1/3 innings. The 29-year-old will report to Triple-A Rochester or test free agency if the right-hander goes unclaimed. Fantasy managers can leave Sanchez on the waiver wire.
