New England Patriots wide receiver (WR) Phillip Dorsett is a fantasy football waiver wire pickup to target as a free agent addition for Week 4 of the 2019 NFL season.

ANALYSIS: It is hard to remember a shakier season around the Patriots receiving corps on and off the field, though everything seems to be finally falling into place. New England entered the season with the same wide receivers that they fielded last year except for Chris Hogan. The absence of Rob Gronkowski was (and still is) going to be felt. The Patriots made due diligence and extended Phillip Dorsett to another year. Now Antonio Brown is gone and New England's wide receivers are, once again, Julian Edelman, Josh Gordon, and fifth-year veteran Phillip Dorsett.

Nobody won bigger than Dorsett with Brown's fallout. In Week 1, Dorsett saw 61 snaps. With Brown starting in Week 2, Dorsett's presence dropped to 35 snaps. Back in Week 3 against the Jets, Dorsett bumped his snaps up again. Not only is he being used, but he's also producing as much as anyone.

In Weeks 1 and 3, Dorsett finished with 25.5 and 18.5 PPR points (he logged 6.9 in Week 2). So far, he has been targeted 14 times, he has caught 13 of those 14 passes for 187 yards, and scored three touchdowns. Dorsett was also able to add 12 yards on the ground this last weekend on two carries. After four years in the league without amounting to anything special, this could be a breakout season for Dorsett.

The Bills are coming after New England in Week 4, and that looks like the hardest matchup the team will have at least until going against Cleveland in Week 8. Even with that average 9.2 PPR game in Week 2 against Miami, Dorsett is among the WR1 tier in terms of production through Week 3. All of this for a guy rostered in less than a third of leagues. Either people are wrong, or they don't seem to realize what Dorsett brings to the table in a powerhouse like New England. Pick Dorsett up as soon as you can.
