No. 32 - Vancouver Canucks

Last Week Ranking - 32

The Canucks opened Week 22 with an upset victory over the Florida Panthers (5-2). In this contest, forward Brock Boeser led the offense, tallying three helpers and logging two shots on goal. However, their final two games of the week would not end in the same result as they would fall to the Lightning (6-2) and the Blues (3-1).

While they remain the clear No. 32 team on our list (and in the league standings), their victory over the Panthers earned them their 49th and 50th points of the season. They sit 13 points behind the No. 31 team in the standings and remain the clear favorite to win in the draft lottery.

No. 31 - Chicago Blackhawks

Last Week Ranking - 31

The Blackhawks capped off last week with a 4-0 loss to the Golden Knights and started Week 22 with a similar result, falling to the Minnesota Wild (4-3) in overtime. While they got some revenge against the Wild a few days later, taking them down 2-1, they would drop their final two games of the week, losing to the Avalanche (4-1) and the Predators (3-2 OT).

They enter Week 23 holding a 3-3-4 record over their last 10 contests and sit tied for the second-fewest points in the sport.

No. 30 - Toronto Maple Leafs

Last Week Ranking - 28

Even though the Leafs capped off last week with an upset victory over the Minnesota Wild (4-2), they quickly lost their footing in Week 22 and remain near the bottom of the league standings. This week, they dropped all three games but did manage to escape one of their losses with an overtime point (against the Hurricanes).

Their other two losses were in regulation to the Senators and Islanders. They have won just two of their last 10 games and dropped five in regulation. With Auston Matthews shut down for the remainder of the season, the Leafs will likely continue to fall in our rankings over the last few weeks.

No. 29 - New York Rangers

Last Week Ranking - 29

The Rangers enjoyed a strong showing in Week 21 but quickly fell back into form in Week 22. The Blue Shirts had a four-game slate and lost all four games. The Rangers would fall to the Kings, Devils, Blue Jackets, and Jets by a combined score of 19-9. They would earn a loser point on Sunday in their loss to the Jets, with the other three games ending in regulation.

Their brief surge looks like a distant memory as they hold a modest 5-4-1 record in their last 10 contests. New York will open Week 23 with a tilt against the Senators and remain in the Eastern Conference basement.

No. 28 - Florida Panthers

Last Week Ranking - 27

The Panthers opened the week by taking a tough 5-2 loss to the lowly Canucks, which all but put a bow on their last glimpse of returning to the postseason. Following this tough defeat, the reigning two-time champions would bounce back, taking down the Oilers by a commanding 4-0 score.

However, they were unable to build on this victory, falling to the Flames (4-1) on Friday night. The Panthers carry a 4-6 record in their last 10 games and remain tied for the second-worst point total in the conference.

No. 27 - Calgary Flames

Last Week Ranking - 30

The Flames began the week taking a 5-2 regulation loss to the Detroit Red Wings. They rebounded quite well in the middle of the week, taking down the Blues (2-1 SO) and the Panthers (4-1), to earn four points. Netminders Dustin Wolf and Devin Cooley stole the show in both of these victories, allowing just two total combined goals.

On Sunday, they increased their winning streak to three games, taking down one of the top teams in the East, the Lightning (4-3), in overtime. This three-game win streak has brought them to a solid 5-5 record over their last 10 games, and they will look to push it to four on Tuesday against the Los Angeles Kings.

No. 26 - Winnipeg Jets

Last Week Ranking - 25

Like the Rangers, the Jets carried some momentum into Week 22 but were unable to enjoy an extended success. During their four-game slate, Winnipeg would post a 1-1-2 record. Their lone victory came against the Rangers on Sunday afternoon (3-2 in a shootout), while their losses were to the Penguins, Predators, and Bruins.

While this was a disappointing season in Winnipeg, center Mark Scheifele has continued to spark on the offense at an elite level. Through 70 games, the center has scored 31 goals and taken 52 helpers, and it's just four points away from matching a previous career-high.

No. 25 - St. Louis Blues

Last Week Ranking - 24

The Blues had a short two-game slate this week and posted a 1-0-1 record. They opened Week 22 with a tilt against the Calgary Flames and came out with a shootout loss (2-1). Netminder Joel Hofer turned in a strong showing, stopping 30 of the 31 shots he saw, but was unable to come out with the victory.

Later in the week, the Blues traveled to Vancouver and took down the bottom-seeded Canucks in a 3-1 victory. The Blues now carry a strong 7-1-2 record over their last 10 and will be a tough out for competing teams down the stretch.

No. 24 - Seattle Kraken

Last Week Ranking - 21

The Kraken entered Week 22 on an impressive two-game winning streak as they look to claim one of the wild cards in the Western Conference. However, they had a three-game slate this week and were unable to carry any of this momentum into their play. They would finish Week 22 with a 0-3 record, dropping all three games in regulation.

They would fall to the Lightning, Predators, and Blue Jackets by a combined 14-5 score. Their schedule won't get much easier next week, with a rematch against the Lightning and a red-hot Sabres team. They hold a modest 3-7 record over their last 10 game and are trending in the wrong direction.

No. 23 - Los Angeles Kings

Last Week Ranking - 23

The Kings have been a very inconsistent team since the start of the month, but remain within striking distance of a playoff spot given their weak division. They began Week 22 with a massive 4-1 victory over the Rangers at MSG. In his return to NY, Artemi Panarin totaled one assist while Alex Laferriere tallied three points.

However, they would drop their next three games, falling to the Flyers in a shootout on Thursday and taking a regulation loss to the red-hot Sabres on Saturday (4-1). On Sunday, they would take another overtime loss, this time to the Mammoth (4-3). They enter Week 23 two points out of a Wild Card and four out of the No. 3 spot in the Pacific Division.

No. 22 - New Jersey Devils

Last Week Ranking - 26

Even though they remain far out of the Eastern playoff picture, the Devils continued their productive play in Week 22. They posted a 2-1 record and have now won seven out of their last 10 games. Their victories came against the Bruins (4-3 OT) and the Rangers (6-3).

Their lone loss came on Friday against the Capitals (2-1). Star forward Jack Hughes continued to stack his point total this week, tallying seven points (six helpers) over these three games.

No. 21 - San Jose Sharks

Last Week Ranking - 19

The Sharks capped off last week with a tough 7-4 loss to the Senators and saw their struggles continue in Week 22. Like the Kraken, the Sharks dropped all their games in regulation and now sit further out of the current playoff picture. They would lose to the Oilers, Sabres, and Flyers in regulation, pushing them down our rankings.

They now carry an inconsistent 3-5-4 record over their last 10 games. However, even following this rough skid, they remain within striking distance in the crowded Pacific Division. They will open Week 23 with a critical game against the Predators, who currently occupy the final Wild Card.

No. 20 - Washington Capitals

Last Week Ranking - 20

The Capitals kept their postseason hopes alive with an impressive showing this week. Across their three-game slate, Washington picked up five of their six points and now sits only one point behind the Flyers in the Eastern standings. They opened the week picking up two straight victories over the Senators (4-1) and Devils (2-1).

On Sunday, they would earn an overtime point against the top-seeded Avalanche in a shootout loss. They now carry a 4-4-1 record over their last 10 games. The reigning Presidents' Trophy Champions will be in Week 23 with a tilt in St. Louis to kick off their road trip. In their loss to the Avalanche, future Hall of Famer Alexander Ovechkin would score his 1,000th goal (regular season and playoffs combined).

No. 19 - Nashville Predators

Last Week Ranking - 22

Nashville was riding a two-game losing skid into the week but bounced back in a major way to keep its postseason hopes alive. They had a four-game slate but took care of business in all four games, picking eight points. While they needed the extra frame in two of the contests, these eight points have brought them back into the postseason race.

They now hold a 6-3-1 record in their last 10 games and sit only a game behind both the Golden Knights and Oilers in the standings. They will open Week 23 with a massive contest against the Sharks.

No. 18 - Edmonton Oilers

Last Week Ranking - 18

The Leon Draisaitl-less Oilers posted a 1-2 record this week but were able to gain a slight edge over their Pacific Division foes. They opened the week with a massive victory over the Sharks (5-3). However, they would cap off the week with two losses against the Panthers and Lightning, both in regulation.

Even following a two-game skid, they carry a 5-4-1 record in their last 10 games and remain in the No. 2 spot in the division. The Oilers will begin their Week 23 slate with a crucial game in the Western playoff picture against the Utah Mammoth.

No. 17 - Vegas Golden Knights

Last Week Ranking - 17

After looking like a postseason "lock" for most of the campaign, Vegas enters Week 23 on the hot seat, despite playing in a weak Pacific Division. In Week 22, they did not help their placement in the standings as they dropped their first three games, all in regulation, to the Sabres (2-0), Mammoth (4-0), and the Predators (4-1).

However, on Sunday, they may have saved their hopes of claiming home ice in the opening round, taking down the Dallas Stars (3-2) in regulation. The Knights carry a 4-6 record over their last 10 games and will look to carry this momentum into their Western Conference trip in Week 23, which begins in Winnipeg.

No. 16 - Detroit Red Wings

Last Week Ranking - 16

The Red Wings entered the week as one of the coldest teams in the sport. While they remain in the heat of the playoff race and will likely be chasing a Wild Card, they turned in a strong showing in Week 22 to help bolster their point total. The Wings had a three-game slate and ended with a 2-1 record.

They took down the Flames (5-2) and upset the Canadiens (3-1) on Thursday night. However, they would fall to the Bruins (4-2) on Saturday. Detroit will face Eastern teams in its next six games, which could very well decide its postseason fate. They enter week 23 with an underwhelming 4-4-2 record in their last 10.

No. 15 - Utah Mammoth

Last Week Ranking - 15

The Mammoth took a tough 4-3 loss to the Penguins to conclude their Week 21 efforts, but bounced back in Week 22. They opened the week with two straight regulation victories, over the Stars (6-3) and Golden Knights (4-0), to give them a much-needed boost in the Wild Card race.

Later in the week, they would fall to the Ducks in regulation (4-1), but would once again quickly round into form, defeating the Kings (4-3) in overtime for a massive extra point in the playoff race. Forward Lawson Crouse turned in his second three-point effort of the season on Sunday night to lead the way. Utah sits comfortably in the No. 1 Wild Card spot, five points ahead of the Predators.

No. 14 - Anaheim Ducks

Last Week Ranking - 13

The Ducks hit a bit of a skid over the past few weeks, but remain just inside the top half of our rankings. They began to show some progress this week, picking up three points over their first four games against the Flyers (shootout loss) and a massive regulation victory over the Mammoth (4-1).

On Sunday, they enjoyed an impressive overtime victory over one of the sport's top teams, the Sabres (6-5). In this victory, rookie winger Beckett Sennecke tallied another two points and continued to build his case for the Calder. The rookie forward has scored 21 goals and tallied 33 helpers over his first 70 NHL games.

No. 13 - Philadelphia Flyers

Last Week Ranking - 14

While they began the month far from the playoff picture, the Flyers have been on an impressive run over the last two weeks and now sit not only within distance for a Wild Card, but also potentially a top-3 seed in the Metropolitan Division. This week, they took care of business, posting a perfect 3-0 record and moving just above the Ducks in our rankings.

They were out West and took down the Ducks, Kings, and Sharks, with two of their victories extending into the extra frame. They have now picked up at least one point in each of their last six games and carry a 7-2-1 record over their last 10 games.

No. 12 - New York Islanders

Last Week Ranking - 9

The Islanders opened the week with a 3-1 victory over the slumping Leafs to push their win streak to two games. However, they would hit a brief skid in the middle of the week as they fell to the Ottawa Senators (3-2) and the Montreal Canadiens (7-3) in the back half of their Eastern Canada trip.

Fortunately, they found their stride at the right time as they took down the Blue Jackets (1-0) in a massive game for their postseason hopes. MVP candidate Ilya Sorokin earned his league-leading seventh shutout of the season and remains the favorite to take home the Vezina Trophy. While the Islanders have fallen to the No. 4 spot in the division, they remain just behind the Penguins and Blue Jackets.

No. 11 - Pittsburgh Penguins

Last Week Ranking - 11

The Penguins had some reinforcements come back this week as Evgeni Malkin returned from a five-game suspension and Sidney Crosby returned from a knee injury. They had a four-game slate and posted a solid 2-1-1 record to hold their footing near the top of the Metropolitan Division.

Their victories came against the Avalanche (in Colorado) and the Jets, while they fell to the Hurricanes twice, with one of the losses coming in a shootout. They will begin Week 23 with another tilt against the league's No. 1 team, this time in Pittsburgh.

No. 10 - Boston Bruins

Last Week Ranking - 10

The Bruins capped off Week 21 with a massive shootout victory over the Capitals. In Week 22, they had a busy four-game slate but continued to stack points, posting a 2-0-2 record. They began the week with two overtime losses, to the Devils and the Canadiens. However, in their last two, they would take care of business, taking down the Jets and Red Wings by a combined 10-3.

Boston now sits tied with the Canadiens for the No. 3 spot in the Atlantic and is within reach of the Lightning for the No. 2 spot. Top winger David Pastrnak continued to build his MVP resume this week, tallying four goals with three helpers.

No. 9 - Ottawa Senators

Last Week Ranking - 12

The Senators entered the week as one of the hottest teams in the sport but saw their surge take a slight hit in the opening game of the week ot the Capitals. They would fall to Washington by a 4-1 score. This was only their second regulation loss since the start of March. However, they would quickly find their footing, picking up four points over their last two games.

They would take down the Islanders (3-2), thanks to a last-minute game-winner by Brady Tkachuk and the lowly Leafs (5-2) on Saturday. The Senators carry a 7-2-1 record over their last 10 and remain in the heat of the Wild Card race.

No. 8 - Tampa Bay Lightning

Last Week Ranking - 8

The Lightning needed a productive week. After several weeks of inconsistent play and even being overstepped by the Sabers in the Atlantic Division, the Lightning needed points to hold their position near the top of the division and got the job done. In Week 22, the Bolts would post a 3-0-1 record.

They began the week with three straight victories, taking down the Kraken, Canucks, and Oilers to kick off their Western road trip. On Sunday, their torp would end with a 4-3 overtime loss to the Flames. They enter Week 23 sitting four points behind the Sabres in the division and will face a tough battle attempting to reclaim it.

No. 7 - Montreal Canadiens

Last Week Ranking - 5

The Canadiens entered the week on a two-game losing skid but quickly rebounded, taking down the Bruins in a crucial Atlantic Division showdown by a 3-2 score in overtime. However, they were unable to build momentum, falling to the Red Wings on Thursday (3-1).

They concluded their week with a 7-3 victory over the Islanders on Saturday night. In this game, Cole Caufield lived up to his "Mr. Saturday Night" title as he led the way, tallying five points, including a hat trick. They will begin Week 23 with a tilt against the Carolina Hurricanes.

No. 6 - Minnesota Wild

Last Week Ranking - 7

The Wild took a fall in last week's rankings but began to find their footing in Week 22. After dropping each of their last three games heading into the new week, the Wild would post a 2-1 record in Week 22. Their victories came against the Blackhawks (4-3 OT) and the Dallas Stars (2-1 OT).

Their loss came against these same Blackhawks (2-1) in regulation. While they appear destined to sit in the No. 3 spot in the Central Division in the postseason, a late-season surge could push them close to the Stars for the No. 2 spot.

No. 5 - Columbus Blue Jackets

Last Week Ranking - 6

The Blue Jackets began Week 22 with a statement victory, taking down the Metropolitan Division-leading Carolina Hurricanes by a commanding 5-1 score. In this victory, netminder Jet Greaves would stop 27 of the 28 shots he saw while veteran forward Charlie Coyle tallied four points.

They would pick up another two victories (over the Rangers and Kraken) before seeing their winning streak come to an end against the Islanders (1-0) on Sunday night. Despite the loss, Columbus sits just one point behind the Penguins for the No. 2 spot in the division and remains the hottest team in the league.

No. 4 - Carolina Hurricanes

Last Week Ranking - 4

The Hurricanes began the week falling to the sport's hottest club, the Blue Jackets, in a tough 5-1 loss. However, the No. 1 team in the Eastern Conference bounced back quite well, picking up all six points over their final three contests. Two of their victories came against the Penguins, which all but sealed their position as the No. 1 team in the division, and their other victory came against the Maple Leafs.

Carolina has now won seven of its last 10 games. While they sit as the clear top team in the Metropolitan Division, their lead for the top seed in the conference is shrinking as the Sabres sit just a handful of points behind. They will open Week 23 with another tough test, facing the Canadiens.

No. 3 - Buffalo Sabres

Last Week Ranking - 3

The Sabres continue to roll and are emerging as the clear favorite to claim the top spot in a competitive Atlantic Division. In Week 22, the Sabres posted another strong 3-0-1 record as they continued to pad their lead over the Lightning for the top spot in the Atlantic. This week, Buffalo took down the Golden Knights (2-0, Sharks (5-0), and Kings (4-1) in dominant fashion.

Their lone loss came at the hands of the Ducks in overtime on Sunday night. The Sabres sit with an elite 8-1-1 record over their last 10 games and remain a legitimate favorite for the Stanley Cup.

No. 2 - Colorado Avalanche

Last Week Ranking - 1

The Avalanche remains near the top of our rankings, but has been far from its typical dominant self. This week, the Avalanche had a four-game slate and would secure five of their eight possible points. They opened the week with one of the worst losses of their season, falling to the Penguins (without Sidney Crosby) by a 7-2 score. However, over their last three, they posted a 2-0-1 record, with their overtime loss coming against the Stars.

They would pick up their victories against the Blackhawks (4-1) and the Capitals (3-2 OT). While they clinched a playoff spot, the Stars sit just three points behind them for the top seed in the Western Conference.

No. 1 - Dallas Stars

Last Week Ranking - 1

The Stars saw their dominant streak come to an end on Monday evening. They took a regulation loss to the Utah Mammoth (6-3), their first since before the Olympic Break (January 22). However, like all good teams, they quickly bounced back, taking down the Avalanche in a shootout.

They would end their week with an overtime loss to the Wild (2-1) and another regulation loss to the Golden Knights. While their 1-2-1 record was not overly impressive, they remain the No. 1 team in our rankings. Their incredible surge in March has brought them just five points behind the Avalanche for the conference's top seed.
