Hey, RotoBallers! I want to introduce myself formally. My name is Jon Irvin. Some of you may know me from the Discord channels, and you know I love breaking down DFS slates, especially in MLB and NHL. I enjoy deep dumpster diving, so to speak, and look forward to helping find the low-owned, overlooked, and unwanted plays.
I predominantly play on DraftKings, so some of my picks are more tailored to their point/price system, but a good spot is a good spot regardless of the platform.

Today's DFS content will be for the main slate for both DraftKings and FanDuel for Monday, April 14, 2025, at 7:00 p.m. EDT. We reached the last Monday during the regular season. With most playoff spots locked up, Montreal still needs to win to secure their spot in the post-season, and fortunately, they host the lowly Blackhawks tonight. Another spot I'm looking at is a hot Utah Hockey Club traveling to Nashville, who has been below pedestrian.

This looks at the average between the L25 and L10, weighing the L10 heavier to help find specific positive or negative trends.
DraftKings and FanDuel Goalies - NHL DFS Picks
Value in net is key on DK with a three-point bonus at the 35-save mark. We can afford to give up an extra goal or two if our goalie can see a steady shot volume against him. Those extra few hundred can get us those top-line forwards.
Jake Oettinger - DK $8.0K || FD $7.6K
Opponent - Detroit Red Wings
Oett carries the high save volume we covet from this spot. Jake has seen a heavy supply of shots reaching the 30 save mark in five of the last six games, including hitting the save bonus in three games. Oettinger is more than reliable at home, but Detroit shouldn't be too much of a threat tonight as their season nears completion.

Barrett Hayton - DK $4.3K || FD $5.6K
Opponent - Nashville Predators
Another year with a promising Arizona/Utah squad ending the season with great metrics yet missing the playoffs. Hayton has had great numbers for most of the year, including a 3.24xGF. Unfortunately, he's had a problem finishing with a 2.32GF. We can see similar numbers in his L10 away games, scoring and high danger chances leading to a high xGF, yet his GF is almost two goals less. Hopefully, all the positive regression comes Barrett's way, and he finishes the season with a hatty.

Brendan Gallagher - DK $4.4K || FD $5.3K
Opponent- Chicago Blackhawks
Gallagher and the rest of the Habs are fighting for their presence in the playoffs. A win tonight will get them one step closer, and a great performance from Brendan will surely help their cause. Coming into tonight with great home metrics L10, there is a slight decrease in expected goals, but his decent scoring chance and high danger chances keep him in goal potential. Gallagher also gets a spot on the PP2 unit, attributing to his upside.

DraftKings and FanDuel Defensemen - NHL DFS Picks
When selecting defensemen, especially on DK, I tend to find players with a high chance at both blocks and shots and not concentrate so much on point dependency.
Jan Rutta - DK $3.4K || FD $3.8K
Opponent - Vancouver Canucks
The Sharks are struggling to keep blueliners healthy. Thankfully, the recently activated Rutta is back and should receive over 20 minutes on ice with an additional PK2 assignment. A consistent supplier of shots and blocks leads to a solid floor on the cheap.
